Time Capsule Material: Mint 1985 Mazda RX7 – Space Coast FL

Before anything I would like to thank a member of one of the forums that I frequent for this incredible car. (Thanks OAC!)

There is no other word that can be used to describe this car but MINT. It’s a 1985 Mazda RX7 with only 14k miles, and she is going for only $4,700 (*or best offer.) First-gen RX7s can’t get any better then this. The paint seems to be in a fantastic shape. No worries about the 1.2l rotary engine in this case, Greg Voth (A Grassroots Motorsports staffer) had multiple first-generation RX7s, and many with pretty high mileage (The engine of his second car decided to go at 180k miles after an autocross. It lost a side seal, but the car still made the 100 mile drive back home.) The FB chassis RX7 got better with age, and peaked in the last years of production (1984-’85.) The interior is surprisingly modern and comfortable and may include many amenities, as air conditioning and a glass moon roof (Although the ad doesn’t specify what the car has. Make sure to ask before making an offer.) The car is also very, very light, weighing under 2400 lbs.  As a racing/auto crossing machine it can be very competent and tail-happy. The only downside is the recirculating ball steering, although that can be changed for a rack and pinion setup.

This one will go fast! A picture and seller’s info follow, click here for the craigslist link.
